Kline and assistant are getting into hot water for their abortion witch hunt. ' Bout time
BY RON SYLVESTER
The Wichita Eagle

Steve Maxwell
A prosecutor for former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline deceived a judge and misled a grand jury in pursuit of abortion clinics, a state ethics commission said.

The complaint against Steve Maxwell by the state's office of attorney discipline became public Monday.

Maxwell served as an assistant prosecutor for Kline in the Attorney General's Office and at the Johnson County District Attorney's Office. He now works as an assistant district attorney in Reno County.

The Kansas Board for Discipline of Attorneys set a public hearing on the accusations for February in Topeka

3. This one's a career-killer: "The complaint said this violates a rule of professional conduct
requiring lawyers to keep legal case documents separate from their personal property."

That's gonna smart.

6. It's one of the cardinal ethics requirements. Even the hint that it happened will
kill any chance for him to get in on any decent law firm in the future. The legal business is pretty tight, no way can he keep it hidden.
