In may have been too hasty in stating that an applicant who puts he's Black in an application would also be racist. It may simply be that he doesn't want to show up to a lot of interviews only to be rejected out of hand because of his color. Realizing that reacism exists is not racist itself. Same for homophobia. If someone in an ad looking for a room says he is gay, it may simply be to avoid numerous interviews where he is immediately rejected based on bigotry.
