The Emperor’s New Clothes #2 – Or How To Dress A Dictator
New York - Mahmoud Ahmadinejad intends to address the U.N. General Assembly today in Manhattan. We would call him the “President” of Iran, but that would insult democracy and the millions of Iranian voters who were cheated out of a real election. Instead of following the will of his people, Ahmadinejad and his Basij thugs crushed the opposition, shut down the media, and butchered innocent people on Tehran’s streets.

We would also call him a “dictator,” but that would give him too much credit because he’s actually a puppet whose strings are pulled by the real chief psycho in Iran, “Supreme Leader” Ayatollah Khamenei (not to be confused with the other psycho Ayatollah Khomeini from the 1970s)...

P.S. Our staff works FOR FREE to bring creative content to our progressive humor site. If you don't want to read it, then don't. But don't start with Joe Wilson-esque outbursts. This is not spam, we're not "liars," and we're not selling Viagra. Thanks

9. We're on this site because we're progressives
We're actually surprised that a few people on here are so close-minded and ignorant. DU is a progressive site; our site is a progressive humor site. So what's your problem?

We're on here because we are passionate Dems, and we also create funny free stuff for your viewing pleasure. So you're welcome.

2. By posting a link here to drive traffic to your site, there is nothing else to call it...

..but spam.

10. Are you offended by The Daily Show, too?
Just like we told Javaman, you're actually pissed off because someone has created a free progressive humor site? Do you also flip through your TV channels and have the same reaction?

We haven't seen one bit of wisdom or humor in any of your posts. They're just negative rants against fellow progressives. Maybe you should join the GOP. Here's another piece of advice, genius: if you don't want to be entertained, don't click the link.

14. "We?"
When you respond using terms like "we" and "us" rather than "I" and "my," you shouldn't be surprised when suspicions are aroused and motivations are questioned.

DU'ers are individuals, while "you" appear to be a "website" with a pissy attitude.

Good luck with that.....to all of "you." :eyes:

15. Suspicious of progressive comedy?
Yeah, we are a couple of people who started The Pantaloon. I'm on here because I'm a devout Dem. Not pissy, just surprised.

3. NPR had a piece with a Columbia professor who confronted Ahmadinejad.
During Ahmandinejad's visit to Columia, he had a philosophical discussion with some of the faculty. The professor pointed out that anyone in Iran -- particularly Iranian scholars -- who would have had a similar discussion at any university in the US would have been immediately arrested upon their return to Iran. An excellent and well deserved slap upside the head.

11. Thanks! That's why we're here
Thanks for the compliment. We love DU and want to mix our progressive views on politics with humor. What's going on in Iran is a disgrace, and we hope to get more attention for the Persian people even if it's through satire.
Best, Z

7. Thanks
We're here to discuss progressive topics and also make funny stuff. We don't understand the few people who hate us for trying to entertain progressives.

Thanks again.

A small minority is acting as if we are selling Rush Limbaugh's line of butt plugs? What's their friggin' problem?
