Andrew Card was here last night - this is a wonderful story
Andrew Card was here last night. I was unable to go but several of my friends were there and reported the following wonderful story:

After the event, my friends were in the parking lot talking. One of them is a man who was electrocuted many years ago and lost one arm and one leg and is in a wheelchair. He is a regular member of our protest group and people often assume he is a veteran who lost his limbs in a war. He always corrects this misconception. So last night he is sitting in the parking lot after Card's talk and Card comes out and walks over towards a car that is taking him wherever he is going. He sees my friend in his wheelchair, motions to the driver to wait and comes running over to him.

Card says "Thank you for coming and for your service. I would like to shake your hand." And my friend says

"No sir, you may not shake my hand. You are a war criminal and you and the entire Bush administration belong in prison!"

Card slunk back to his car and left. My friend never explained to him that he was not a veteran.

Opportunistic jerk Card had it coming.

5. Apparently he is friends with the president of the university that invited him to speak
He said he was writing a book but it isn't out yet.

Wonder if he will include this story?

8. Snort! Oh yeah - page 1.
He'll make it a story about how the leftists hate him. Which would be the only true part of the book.

14. Ha! Bet that's one story that won't make his book
Didn't Card recently float the idea that he'd run for Teddy's Senate seat?

My favorite Card story was in Paul O'Neill's book. Right before or after O'Neill was hired as Treasury Secretary, he was meeting with Dubya. Dubya called Card in and said something like, "Aren't you the Chief of Staff? Can't you russle us up a couple of cheeseburgers?" So Card is used to slinking off. (Can you imagine Rahm taking that?!)

And, of course, another "Dubya: What an Asshole" story.

2. That's how they all should be treated

(since they aren't in prison where they should be)

Edited on Wed Sep-23-09 07:11 PM by stuball111
I see he isn't, please don't insult us "Hosers" . (It's true though, I am Canadian born, and didn't know where the term came from until a while ago!)

15. Too late. Although the derivation of the term is Canadian...
...it has long been adopted by our side of the border. Many thanks for such a useful pejorative. :hi:

an Arkansas credit card. How it got to Canada I have no idea.

Forgive me, Arkansans.

7. Don't forget that Card bounced Jimmy Carter - a truly religious man from JPII's funeral.
No one was sure what political flunkie was doing at the service when a former prez had been bounced out of the line up.

16. Card was entertaining a run for Senator in Mass.
he's from here. We were hoping that he would so the pathetic MA Republican party would set a record for most resounding loss by a candidate. All they would have to show was a clip of andy Card whispering to Dubya while he read 'My Pet Goat' on 9/11 and the election would be over.

I said the phenomenon has NOTHING to do with racism, that other HOUSEBOYS are:

MIERS, CARD, and many others of the same ILK. It has to do with MEDIOCRITY!1

21. Well the latest thing to the right is thanking veterans
I and my BIL have told a couple of these losers, we don't want your thanks, we want the services we need, oh the troops want the supplies they need. And if you can spare it, your service as well

Usually that leaves them cold.

And good for your friend

22. I watched him and Joe Wilson throughout the Bush adm..
and these are similar both of these wimps always pushed for war, and would show up on cspan spouting all of the rightwing talking points. Wilson always would show up talking over himself and stumbling trying his best to get out every word before his time ran out if he was doing an interview.

I noticed how angry Card was about Pres Obama and I believe a few months ago he was on Morning Joe, talking big shit. Both of these guys come off as scary but always want war. I believe that is why Wilson got so angry at the President because they are really some of the nuttiest of them all. They seem like they have been sheltered from different races in the country and it irritates the hell out of them that he is President.
