If these nuts hate the Census so much |
|
Why don't we stop doing the census in conservative states, which would of coarse mean, reducing drastically the number of seats they could fill in the Congress of that pesky Federal Government they hate so much.
Maybe we can make their vote count as 1/3 in the general election like they did to Blacks for so many years..
I'm sorry, this murder story has sent me over the top. I feel like war has been declared upon everything decent by these neanderthal fascist cowards.

1. I would agree, but it would be too good of a way to fan the secessionist flames.... |

I just mean, I'm fucking angry right now.
This is a wake up call to all Liberals:
The enemies we face are without dignity or humanity, just a bunch of dirty, murderous scum.

Yeah, we should stop counting those in conservative states. Then we could stop counting people on welfare too. That way, the people who pay taxes and those that receive welfare can't argue anymore.
The nation would be happy.

6. Stop counting conservative states and people on welfare? |
|
How could we not count people twice? Seems a bit redundant.

I had to google that. First post, pretty abrasive. Oops. Read the O.P. and thought it would be cool.
Just wondering why it is okay to exclude certain people. Really doesn't seem to have any more logic than old school racism. Aren't we all equal? Don't we all want a better nation?

11. I suggest if you complain about people on welfare and are joking about it... |
|
You add one of these.
:sarcasm:
:eyes:
The Constitution mandates that an attempt is made to include everyone in the Census. It does not mandate that everyone be covered. People cannot be forced to participate and, in light of this, I think if Census workers are threatened in certain regions, it would be reasonable to make participation by mail only and if that is not possible, then not at all.

My response was to the thread author that wants to exclude people from the census.
Is he indicating that we just avoid and ignore people?
Aren't we a nation that helps and aids the ignored and forgotten?

8. It's not a "murder" story, sorry - |
|
but no cause of that man's death has been established - or announced.
And nice idea, foregoing the Constitution, and all that. Real smart................

9. The attempt is mandated in the Constitution. |
|
There is no mandate to put federal workers in harm's way.
If the Census bureau is receiving threats from certain communities, let them mail in the forms only. If they won't comply, fuck 'em.

What harm's way?
There have been times when we've needed protection from Feds - when postal workers go postal, for instance.
But, really, the poster's willingness to overlook the Constitution, as so many at DU do here when things are strange, struck me. Quite shameful, really. Too many people are too quick to want to clamp down on the First Amendment, too, when people say things that aren't what they want to hear.
I have no idea what you mean about a mandate and harm's way. I trust it was some kind of attempt to show that you're concerned about the safety of Federal census workers. That's admirable, but, as I also pointed out, no one knows how or why that man died, and until there's an announcement that he was murdered, the wise course is to withhold the condemnation of anyone.
Otherwise, the people who start blaming and denouncing and calling for Hate Crime Laws or some such nonsense, just look like morans, and, really, I like to think that we at DU are better than that..............................
