Whatever happened to repealing the tax cut on the rich?
Wasn't that supposed to pay for health care reform?

1. All they have to do is nothing and the Bush tax cuts will expire in 2010
So it is politically more astute to just let that happen. It is not worth the fight and what it would cost our party to push repealing the tax cuts sooner, since a repeal would likely not take effect until next year anyway.

4. What about Green Jobs Manufacturing?
When President Obama was elected that was a constant theme. It
would do so many things. It would lower the unemployment rate,
help our environment, bring manufacturing back to America,
make us less dependent on foreign oil, create good paying
jobs, etc....
Even before Van Jones was thrown under the bus, Green jobs
were not being discussed much, especially not with the
previous fervor.

Obama brings green jobs message to Midwest

WAKARUSA, Indiana (Reuters) - President Barack Obama urged the economically battered U.S. heartland on Wednesday to resist hard times and pledged $2.4 billion to help create green jobs and ease the pain of rising unemployment.

Eager to show that his $787 billion stimulus package is working, the U.S. leader traveled to a part of northern Indiana with one of the country's highest unemployment rates to announce $2.4 billion in stimulus grants to spur manufacturing of batteries and components for electric vehicles.

"This represents the largest investment in this kind of technology in American history," Obama told a crowd of 200 people at a factory that makes motor homes.

Obama noted that the Wakarusa area had faced a "perfect storm" of economic trouble, including an overall downturn in U.S. manufacturing and the problems associated with the troubled auto industry. He said stimulus funds had helped save the factory where he spoke.

7. Obama had every intention of repealing the tax cuts upon taking office,
but was convinced not to because of the financial crisis engineered by the previous administration.
