Check out this ridiculous LTTE regarding the 9/12 Tea Party protest.

Some choice quotes:

"I was in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 12 for the Tea Party Rebellion and I can tell you firsthand that there were hundreds of thousands of people (some estimates said over a million) expressing their outrage at the direction Obama and company are taking this country."

"When I got back on Sunday morning I expected front-page spreads with the aerial photos of the massive crowds. There were busloads of people from all over the country ... people told me of planes from the West Coast where half the folks on the plane were headed to D.C. for the tea party."

"But like the Chinese government did with Tiananmen Square, our liberal press, print and TV, all but ignored the massive protest. Trust me, folks, it was huge and it completely took Washington by surprise. They were not expecting anything like what happened."

On edit: Don't forget to register and comment on the letter. :)

1. Yes, and All the Residents of DC
I imagine all the residents of DC are involved in the "cover up" of this "massive" demonstration as well.

5. Thanks for the pics. However...
I bet I know what this loon would say to the C-SPAN shot. "Oh, that was early in the day! It really filled up later!"

12:56 PM PT (Pacific Time) = almost 4 PM EDT. That would be about the peak point of this protest. Since the Capitol was their gathering place, that's as many as they were going to get and the numbers would dwindle from that point on.

There was another pic from past 6th Street (not sure who took it) facing the Capitol and not the Monument. Showed a BARE mall with a few thousand people in the far distance by the Capitol Reflecting pool.

There was also another pic taken at the base of the Reflecting Pool. The Inauguration was person-to-person, back-to-chest PACKED with people (trust me, I froze half to death with the rest of them). At the 9/12 Gathering of the Juggaloons, these people clearly had free space to spread picnic blankets and stretch their feet out. When you have that going, you didn't draw that many.

So there really ain't no getting around this myth for them. Every Anti-war protest I've ever been to in D.C. (even one held in January) outdrew this thing by a lot. What's even worse is that their Event of Teh Stupid had carte blanche promotion on right-wing radio, Fox, CNN and CNBC for MONTHS. Can our demonstrations say they had that luxury?

I think not. :)

3. Conservative Media Bias
Otherwise, a respectable unbiased paper would never publish such a work of fiction - even as a LTTE

4. Tiananmen Square???
Now there's quite a stretch. I knew a real journalist who was in Beijing covering those protests. Firstly, they lasted for well over a month...not a one-day made-for-teevee jokeathon. Next, it was estimated that there were over 5,000,000 people camped in the square as the tanks were about to ruins the party. We still have no real death count from that horrid night.

The only part of that analogy I do like is the sight of teabaggers running for their lives...

Kinda hard for the "media" to ignore that little tempest in a teapot considering it was sponsored by a network.

Nice try...but being the victim is the image of the new rushpubican.

11. Somebody in the comments posted a link to this picture:

Haven't seen that one before. Even if you took the crowds you see on either side of the Mall and put them in the Mall, it still wouldn't go back very far, I suspect.
