Anti-Government Hanging--Product of Rampant Hate Talk?

The rabid, and often illogical, hate talk of the right has caused another death. This time a lynching of a census worker. I blame the hate talk that is allowed to ooze from right wing radio and tv 24-7. They have created a monster, played to the lowest emotion-FEAR-for ratings. They have gone too far, and cannot control what they have produced.

The idiots who spew ambiguous hate and fear, you know who they are(they know who they are), are playing a game they don't understand. They are emotionally deficit, approaching sociopath levels. They are intellectually bankrupt. Make no mistake, they don't hate for political or patriotic reasons. They hate for rating$ and for profit. This will not end well. We are seeing the beginning of something this country thought was in its past.

Hate speech is not protected speech. IMO. There is a fine line, and people justifiably get very uncomfortable when trying to define where that line should be. But, I think we are beyond that point now.

My only suggestion is diligent police work to prevent these types of violence. I am not sure how to handle the hate talkers. Boycotts and dropping advertisers doesn't seem to work. Most challenges to their hate just fuels them through increased ratings. I wish I had a solution.

5. Too soon to know yet. Several people on DU who were

familiar with the area of KY where this crime took place talked about how it's over-ridden with MJ growing & Meth. It's also possible that a census worker went to several locations with question like How many people live here, What kind of work do you do, How much $$ do you make, they would have been seen as "The FEDS getting to close to their operation.

The HATE speak should STOP! But it mght not be relivant in this crime. Let's wait and see.

Let's see what evidence comes out of an investigation. There were those who said the Black Panthers did the Tate killing due to the word "Pigs" being written in blood. We found out that wasn't quite the case...on the contrary, a move to distract attention.

I'm with you on the ooze that emits from hate radio and how toxic its made the body politic. I'm also very critical of the rushpublicans and faux noise that are fanning these flames for their own power and profit. And, unfortunately, I see violent days ahead as the unhinged keep getting thrown red meat. But in this case let's see what evidence comes forward.

Unfortunately it's gonna take an ugly incident for this hatred to crest...I only hope it is minimal in scope. My hopes are that the horror of such actions will create a massive blowback that will destroy the rushpublican party and relegate these losers and their acolytes to the political wilderness for decades to come.

I don't know the area, I hope investigators don't go in with an agenda or preconception. I'll add a question mark to the OP title to indicate we don't know. I hope it isn't what it looks like, but I still feel what has been started won't end well.
