Speaking of "overexposed" ...
September 24, 2009 10:12 am ET by Jamison Foser

Last week, ABC News ran a segment about the possibility -- promoted by conservatives and journalists but undermined by public polling -- that President Obama is "overexposed."

The Washington Monthly's Steve Benen points out that this weekend, ABC's This Week hosts Sen. John McCain. It will be McCain's third appearance on This Week in five months, and his 13th Sunday show appearance this year. Thirteenth.

John McCain is not president, he chairs no Senate committees, he represents two percent of the U.S. population, he lacks a strong constituency even among his own party -- a party that is pretty widely disliked and has taken a thumpin' in two straight elections. He is not playing a central, or even peripheral role in the health care debate. And yet he's on television all the time.

When can we expect rampant media talk about John McCain being "overexposed"?

3. John McCain has been a media whore forever.
The networks know that if they are lacking for a guest and need a last-minute replacement, it's Johnny Mac. He starts talking when the bulb in the refrigerator goes on, he's so used to being on television.

4. Yesterday on MSNBC it was pointed out by two reliable analysts--
In a careful examination they found: If you voted MCCain you
think Obama is overexposed. If you voted Obama you cannot
get enough of him.

In other words, IMO this is a RW talking point.

5. Huh? 13 appearances since losing, and you call this a r/w talking point?
Any guesses how many appearances Kerry was invited to after he 'lost'?

"Refresh my memory: was there this much interest in John Kerry's take on current events in 2005?

Answer: There was not. In 2005, between Meet the Press, Face the Nation, This week, Fox News Sunday and CNN's Late Edition (which has basically morphed into today's State of the Union), John Kerry made a total of three appearances on those program during the first eight months of 2005, according to a search of Nexis.

Or, to put it another way, after Kerry lost in November, the press walked away from him. After McCain lost in November, the press still crowds around him.

He keeps saying he is a Democrat but that many McCain's must be because he has no power with ABC.

It must have been a deal they worked out.

We are really getting a gift because McSame is so boring.
