New Bush book: Bush WH rejected idea of giving Kennedy Medal of Freedom because he was a liberal |
|
http://www.newmajority.com/latimer-bush-2008-speeches-excuses-for-taxpayers-to-pick-up-tab-for-political-events<snip> On page 201 we learn of the extreme partisanship and pettiness of Bush’s staff. When, after he was diagnosed with brain cancer, it was suggested that Senator Edward Kennedy be awarded the presidential Medal of Freedom, the idea was rejected out of hand on the grounds that Kennedy was a liberal. On that same page we get a glimpse of how the Iraq fiasco developed. The president’s chief speechwriter, Marc Thiessen, wanted to say that we were winning the war on terror, but the CIA refused to back him up. “The president wants to say we’re winning!” Thiessen thundered. Latimer’s dead-pan comment: “Just what we needed - another accusation that the Bush White House wanted to politicize intelligence.”

With the magnifying glass now in place, we're seeing how small these minds are.

13. The sooner BHO comes to grip with the fact that every facet of junior's agenda was holistically |
|
evil and destructive, the sooner the partial restoration of the Constitution, the rule of law, the DOJ, the fiscal integrity of the US government, the economy, the capital markets, the banking system, Wall Street, health care, the jobs market, et al can begin in earnest. :P

5. Bush continues to prove that he wasn't the President of the American people |
|
He represented only his narrow base and didn't care about anyone else. So cocky for a guy who stole the election of 2000.

9. To be included in the group of those receiving... |
|
...a Freedom Medal from George Bush is an insult to those who truly deserve kudos and recognition.
His choice of recipients turned receiving a Freedom Medal from an honor into a very bad joke.
