MSNBC - As Dim As Some Of Us - Picks Up The "Obama Indoctrination School Video" Faketroversy...
Segment on MSNBC now.

There's no reason to criticize the media, when we aren't any brighter ourselves.

11. The song is not good. But if you look at it with perspective you have to see where the fault is.
The teacher that decided to write or teach the song is the person that made the wrong decision. That has nothing to do with anyone beyond that teacher, but many try to attach that choice to other people like people in political office.

I have never heard President Obama, or other politicians asking to be praised like that, nor have I seen them claim that they should be, so any criticism should not be on politicians.

The reason the song is so bad is it first speaks about the President, then in some interpretations puts the thought that the president is more then a man by using a line said about Jesus in a gospel song.

President Obama is a man, just like everyone else, if he does good works he should be supported, but nobody that I know of has asked for him to be praised, and nobody but the far right has made claims that he is more then a man. And President Obama himself has said he makes mistakes sometimes, and has not claimed to be more then a person like everyone else.

I have thought about how the right wants to make a claim that someone is saying they are more then they are, and in that it seems it is the Right that defames the belief in God by making those claims.

Huckabee said that God calls us home not Ezekiel Emanuel. Huckabee did the same thing by making an inference to what someone else says that they did not say, in his mind he is making some claim that politicaians say something in a context built from Huckabee's own mind. I think such accusations are bad since in some way they make the very claim that they say they oppose, and do it with false witness.

I also do not support Nationalism, a respect for offices when they do what is right for society is good, but Nationalism seems to have little rational arguements to its discussions.

3. Anything to avoid covering things that matter...
...and require real thought.

So far this hour MSNBC has presented:

-Hugo Chavez on the floor of the UN promoting Oliver Stone's new film
-A few hundred protesters in PGH
-A video of school children that is 7 months old

and now...

PANDAS!

They actually presented this as "the most important stories out there".

Glad to hear health care and Afghanistan have been solved.

8. I'd rather hear about the pandas.
Sarah Palin, now there's a species I think we should let go extinct. Unfortunately, unlike pandas, it seems that she and her offspring have no problems reproducing.

5. Sure there is plenty of reason
The media is supposed to run their stories and sources through a vetting process, not just run with whatever is the most sensational thing going around at the moment.

I hold any outlet which claims to be a source of "news" to a higher standard than I do an an average person.

7. Interesting DU study. Here we have an OP whipping MSNBC for this.
And here, posted at almost exactly the same time, we have an OP praising MSNBC for their handling of this pseudo-controversy:
