We saw the funniest thing at the hardware store this morning |
|
I've been meaning to post this all day. My son and I are remodeling a bathroom and needed to make a supply run to the local hardware store mid-morning today. We pulled around to the back lot where there were a half a dozen vehicles parked. One of them was a new vicious black four-wheel-drive Dodge truck and plastered across the back window in letters a foot tall - and in red, white, and blue - was the word proudly displayed, "REDNECK". That was not, however, what got my son and laughing like a couple of tickled schoolgirls. Someone had taped a sign on the tailgate of the truck, about a foot square, that in bright florescent orange lettering said "Gay Pride".
As we were parking the kid (20-something) who owned the truck came out and was loading something he had bought in the back and saw the sign, clearly for the first time. No telling how long he had been driving around with it on there. If you could have seen the look on the pin-head's face when he saw that sign on his truck.
Fucking priceless.

1. I'm not sure whether to laugh.... |
|
Or cry.
Their ignorance is often funny, but sad at the same time.

4. Sure is - about 10:00 am, Street's Store, Masontown , WV |
|
I didn't have my phone with me and neither did my son or I'd have a picture for you. I'm still laughing about it sitting here. You just had to see the look on that little neo-nazi's face when he saw the sign insinuating he was gay. Just too good for words.

....something like this could scar a little redneck feller for life....if Billy-Bob or Earl would have seen him with that sign, there would be all hell to pay on their next fishin' trip....

8. I'm pretty sure he saw us laughing, it would have been hard to miss |
|
We parked about 3 spaces away from him and we were both chuckeling pretty hard as we walked across the parking lot. I was trying not to look at the guy because I know I'd have busted a gut laughing - he was so pissed off, you just know he wanted to kill someone. I didn't care, there were two of us, and we are each a good bit bigger than the kid was, so it wasn't going to be a problem even if we went over and laughed in his face, which of course we didn't and wouldn't do.

7. I saw something like that recently on a Cadillac Escalade |
|
It read: NICE SUV - TOO BAD ABOUT YOUR SMALL PENIS
I hope the owner never notices it.

9. I don't find that amusing |

I object to people putting signs on other people's vehicles, just as much as I object to people removing signs from other people's vehicles.

11. It may not be the right thing to do, but it is still funny! |
|
You put yourself out there like that, it is bound to happen. I agree that messing with other people's property is wrong mostly, but I can still laugh at the results if it is funny.

a good thing to do, but it is as funny as anything I've heard in a long time. Sometimes you just have to loosen up and enjoy the moment.

My brother worked for a guy who was a major asshole to just about everyone, also a very outspoken phobe. He and his wife got into a big fight and didn't speak for a few days. He'd come into the office and tell my brother what a bitch she was. But he noted that the people in town seemed to be getting friendlier as several people had honked and waved at him on his way to work. Bro saw no reason to point out the sign the loving wife had taped to his bumper: "Honk if you're gay".
And one of my friends had a co-worker, fundie type, who constantly said whatever she could get away with to deride him for being gay. He'd noticed that her cubicle was decorated with all things butterfly, so he stopped by one day with a peace offering. She was, he reported, a bit apprehensive, but decided to be very pleased with the colorful butterfly stickers he gave her; so pleased, in fact, that she put them on her car. He'd cut them out himself, after tracing the patterns onto a couple of rainbow flag bumper stickers.
