If the Denver and Dallas terrorist plots would've been thwarted during the Bush administration...

...the "terror alert level" would've been raised to "red".

...the administration would've used it as an impetus to push through more legislation aimed at destroying what is left of the 4th amendment.

...the media would be covering the story 24/7, with GOP spinmeisters on every cable network talking about how George Bush and Dick Cheney personally thwarted the plots.

Instead:

- Obama is continuing as host of the very important G20 in Pittsburgh and letting the FBI do what the FBI does.... without politicizing what happened at all

I know many here on DU spout the complete nonsense that Obama's is just "Bush's third term".... but today's events (and non-events) make it perfectly clear for all to see the difference here.

Grown-ups... who treat the American people like grown-ups... are in charge.

1. Our President is just doing his job.
He doesn't need to stand on an aircraft carrier and proclaim his awesomeness.

2. Exactly. His "awesomeness" is self-evident.

No need to stage anything.

4. Repukes have to grasp at every straw to make their pathetic lives look good.
Obama showers in success and never needs to show it.

5. Some other guy was also arrested for attempting to blow up the Federal building in Decatur, IL today
If we were still under Bush's reign he'd be on TV with froth coming out of the his mouth, beating his chest with one fist and decrying how uber a president he was.

The orgasms over the glory of their Manchimp would have been non-stop.

7. Now save the date folks...
next time some GOPer is bloviating, you can remind them that the Obama administration has kept the country safe, and likely point to convictions before too long. That's going to really irritate them, especially come election time.

8. Perhaps because -- unlike all those "post 9/11" geniuses . . .
Obama realizes that opposition to terrorism is best focused through police and diplomatic channels and only very rarely through military ones.

The "war" on terror was one of the stupidest things in Bush's grab-bag of dumbfuck policies.
