Bitter about the Dems' love affair with Big Health Industry Players? |
|
Why should I be bitter? Big Insurance is only robbing me and endangering my health: http://www.correntewire.com/you_only_think_you_have_insurance_saga_continueshttp://www.correntewire.com/our_uniquely_american_health_system_revisitedhttp://www.correntewire.com/government_got_between_me_and_my_doctorAt least progressives still have an outside shot of declaring victory with a placebo known as " http://pnhp.org/blog/2009/07/20/bait-and-switch-how-the-%E2%80%9Cpublic-option%E2%80%9D-was-sold/">public option," which Obama brags that (if provided at all), fewer than 5% of Americans will ever get. That will "keep" the insurance companies, whom we're conscribing 40 million new customers to, honest, doncha think?

4. Yeah, I sent the Blue Dog Coalition an angry email today |
|
Cited the recent poll on TPM that showed majorities of all people-Republicans, Democrats, and Independents favor the choice of a public option. I noted that we understand how important those campaign contributions are to them but that their cover of having to vote conservative due to the nature of their districts is blown.

5. Me, I'm just as frustrated with those whipping for "public option" |
|
There seems to be close to zero scrutiny about how "strong" or "robust" any plan coming out of Congress would be, in the event there is one at all. And Dems, including President Obama, are assuring the powers that be that fewer than 5% of Americans will get the P.O. Some way to "keep" the insurers honest!

6. It's the short-sightedness of the unions that astonishes me |
|
How can they let themselves be used this way? But as long as they are so very naive, and such good foot-soldiers, the Dems can follow the money.

7. I think everyone of the reps who took money from big pharma |
|
Should be called out and not allowed to vote on any healthcare bill simply because they are bought off and then they do not stand for or represent the peoples interest but big pharmas interest. In fact they should not even be allowed to comment on or debate the issue just sit down and shut the hell up no matter what side of the aisle they claim to represent. In the end they represent their own interests.

9. Yes it would but they made the choice to take the damn money |
|
which using common sense makes them sell outs , useless liars and sell outs. They should pay back the blood money and then they can have their say, fair IS fair.
I have no respect for anyone who takes money from a corporation who destroys lives and then goes on with the show as if all is just fine and dandy , yeah , maybe for them.

10. I can't remember ever being so angry over an issue |
|
and I gnash my teeth every time I hear Obama or some Congressional stooge talk about "keeping the insurance comapnies honest". They all admit the companies are dishonest and can't be trusted but they're all willing to sell us out to protect the crooks.
I got a call from DFA for another donation last night and I told them any money I had would only go to candidates or groups who supported single payer.
The problem is not that single payer can't pass - the problem is that most of "our" elected officials didn't want it to pass. If they had, it would have been part of the discussion.

11. It was just as bad at the big blogs, too |
|
The fix was in for "some kinda public option sorta kinda maybe." Never a real discussion about the pros and cons of single payer. Very frustrating.
