Pat Buchanan on Hardball: "Parents send their kids to school to teach 'em about God..."
While railing about the video of the kids who sing the song about Obama, Buchanan said "parents send their kids to teach 'em about God... and see this on the internet and say 'what's going on in our schools?'"

What the hell country does Pat Buchanan live in where kids go to Public schools in order to be taught about God?

The Easter Bunny and the tooth fairy too. There's only one of them we have the guts to tell her is a fictional character at age 3.

If anyone tried to teach MY kids about God in school, I'd give them an earfull.

That's MY job, and I'll thank the PUBLIC school board to BUTT OUT of religious instruction.

8. Did he mean Sunday School?
If not he is being dumber than usual, which is at the level of a cat that has suffered severe head trauma.

math, language, science, etc. I will teach her at home about God.

11. Oh fuck that, hypocrite pat. My kids went to school
to learn a lot of things but not about religion.

This video the kids and their teacher made is awesomely creative!

I've emailed MSNBC and complained about missing so much of their programming because they keep using that old delusional fart but he keeps on showing up.

16. Pat went to a Catholic school where I sure hope
he was taught about God.

But kids going to a public school should not learn of any particular GOD in school.

I don't send our kids to school to learn morals, they learn those here at home.

Pat is a racist, bigoted fatass.

19. Pat obviously never heard of "McCollum" and "Schempp" Supreme Court cases.
(No religious education in public school classrooms as part of the curriculum and no compulsory prayers as part of the curriculum in public schools.)

MSNBC embarrasses itself by continuing to keep Pat on their payroll. His pink slip is long overdue.

21. Thats My Choice
I would teach my kids about God, you don't want a teacher doing it because he could tech him something in a different view than you. The only way God could be taught in school is by a club or an elective. Its a choice. Other than that. The parents.

How many times do I have to say it. The constitution says you don't force religin OR stop the practice of it. It has to balance out.

50 years ago that comment would have been considered a lot more benign and a lot less crazy.
