Poll question: Does attitude have anything to do with health? (Poll)
Can a person's attitude affect their health, positively or negatively? If you are outgoing, exercise (or work hard), is that good for you? If you are depressed and sedentary, is that bad for you? I tend to believe that your health is something you can affect with your attitude. Admittedly, this is something difficult to measure, scientifically.

1. Attitude is one of many factors that influence your health
I vaguely remember hearing about studies that showed that but I'm not in the mood to look them up now.

Of course some health problems can't be resolved simply by turning a frown upside down.

2. I remember a guy
I think he was the editor of a major magazine. He lived down this way, and after he was diagnosed with cancer (I think), he did the humor theropy. He wathched Laurel and Hardy, etc, and swore that laughing added years to his life. I spend a little while every day easing the stress.

4. By the way, it can and it is measured scientifically
there are studies on this... just go search the JAMA, or any other reputable journal, particularly exercise physiology and psychiatric and psychology journals.

But yes, they have done plenty of studies on this.

We also know that a patient with a positive attitude does better than one wiht a negative one see blood counts.

Hell, we also know that pets have a great effect on human health.

For the record all these things were not thought to be this way or provable until about twenty years ago or so.

6. And, according to "the Secret Life of Plants"
your ferns will grow more if you are nice to them.
