1. Took me a couple tries... |
|
I was expecting a different kind of 'low', but I'd rather have this kind instead.
Well played. :toast:

there is no limit to how low they can go.

6. The Republicans must be disapproved by half their own voters |
|
That's been the trend in talk radio and on the net too. The psychosis the GOP started to motivate voters has taken on a life of its own and is now beyond GOP control. Beck and Limbaugh tried last week to cool some right wing anger toward the GOP. I don't know even they can pacify the base now. When righties are told that communism is coming they expect Republicans go do something drastic about it.
Right wing dissatisfaction with their own party won't hurt the GOP at the ballot box though. The right is in such a frenzy to get rid of Democrats that they can all be counted on to do all they can to create a Democratic loss in 2010.

7. The GOP thinks it's worth it |

They figure: What the heck if they can knock one or two points off of President Obama's popularity it's worth it, even if it costs them 10 points.

10. Ooh, but it is ... because ... um ... |
|
okay, I got it. It is because the Democrats look BOORISH by being so much more popular in comparison, and that just turns people off!
Fox News, I've lobbed it your way, now run with it.

While President Obama will have an affect on next year's elections, if the GOOP thinks they're on the "way back" are in for a big surprise. We may just get a preview shortly in New Jersey and Virginia as heavily favored rushpublicans are seeing their leads vanish as voters are starting to ask the important question as to who they trust to govern. The GOOP has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to a majority of voters they not only can't govern, but when they do it leads to catastrophic consequences.
As much as the rushpublicans try to blame the economy on the Democrats, people know who tanked it and who stands in the way of fixing it. This isn't 1994 where the rushpublicans hadn't had full control of the legislative in 40 years...memories of 2006 are still fresh with many too many.
These polls have been steady for a while. No matter how Democrats have slipped, rushpublicans haven't gained. They don't have any new ideas and very few truly viable national candidates. They'll hold the districts they have now since most are the reddest...and Democrats may not gain next year, but there's not going to be some big shift in power.
