I'm tired of the BS
I'm tired of the people who vote for candidates, because of their religious beliefs of anti-abortion, homophobia, and love of guns, and NOT for their own interests.

I'm tired of the pussy Dems in Congress, who have the biggest majorities in 20-30 years, yet they still can't pass anything.

I'm tired of the wingnuts on the right who keep pushing for the US to suck at everything, but military control.

I want a green economy. In ten years, I want to see 50-60% of our cars be hybrids, electric cars, and other fuel-efficient vehicles. I want to see the majority our electricty be powered by wind turbines and solar panels within the next ten years. I want high speed rail, that'll take us from New York City to LA in ten hours.

I want to see the military budget cut, our borders secured, and for the US to get the heck out of Iraq and Afganistan, and to stay out of Iran, because these last two days have sounded a lot like 2002-2003.

I want to see a single-payer healthcare system that'll save us $900 billion dollars year.

I want FDR's wish of a Second Bill of Rights to be passed that'll give Americans the right to a good-paying job, a home, and a college education.

I want the PATRIOT Act repealed, Gitmo closed, and for the US to ban torture permantly.

I want to see drugs legalized, DOMA repealed, and an Act by Congress to make gay marriages legal in the United States.

What are you tired of, and what would you want to see happen?

1. k
* job opportunities that pay so people can pay back their debts more quickly in what can only be a debt-driven society for so long
* better education because, depending on the issue, there IS a problem with quality of education in this country
* real healthcare reform

That's all on my list; I don't foresee anything that would have me add to it, for now.

2. I'm tired of all this commie talk ever since....
Edited on Sat Sep-26-09 02:07 PM by Gabi Hayes
Nineteen hundred and forty-six. Nineteen forty-six. How does that coincide with your post-war Commie conspiracy, huh? It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual. Certainly without any choice. That's the way your hard-core Commie works

4. We have to change the way we do elections before any of the above will
happen. The problem is that the very people who like the status quo have to be the ones to make that legislation so I doubt if we will ever see it.

5. I'm tired of extremist, hateful rhetoric and unrealistic expectations
I'd like to see a kinder and more intelligent country, but I don't think Congress really has that power.

In general, I would like a more progressive tax system and more educational and job opportunities and a well funded safety net.

6. You and me both.....
but in this day and age we'd might as well ask for a unicorn as well because it's not going to happen, not here anyway. I'm tired of all those pussy dems, wingnuts and wedge issue voters too but I doubt that will ever change. If we want some of those things you listed then I wager it would be easier to move to a country that already has some of them, odds are there won't be as many wingnuts there too, so it's a win win.

7. I'm tired of corporations ruling our lives
I'm tired of money for personal superiority being god. Money should be used for good. For feeding the hungry all over the world. For making people healthy all over the world. For creating a decent life all over the world. Not just in our country. Everywhere.

9. I'm tired of Ayn Rand
Or, to be more exact, I'm sick to the back teeth of people who try to construct their world view according to her pathetic justifications for naked greed and I'm especially sick of the politicians who construct their economic policy from such twaddle.

10. I want women's reproductive services;
education, prenatal care, delivery, abortion services, birth control... to be federally funded, easily accessible, and the right of EVERY woman in the US regardless of age or class.

13. I'm tired of Thatcherism and all its offshoots, including New Labour
I'm tired of people thinking that the private sector represents all that is perfect, and that public services ought to be run exactly like the financial organizations (the British Right) or should not exist at all (the American Right). Especially after the way that the banks and financial organizations have fucked up.

I'm tired of the attitude that ruthlessness and greed and harshness are positive virtues.

I'm tired of the use of vulnerable people or foreigners as scapegoats for every problem.

I'm tired of endless wars.

I'm tired of the Far Right in all its forms, from the BNP here to the other xenophobic parties in Europe to the teabaggers and Ron Paul-worshippers in the USA.

14. I want high speed rail...
...that'll take us from New York City to LA in ten hours.

Save that for last, it'll be a budget buster and it only benefits a small portion of the population.
