3. What I can't comprehend for the life of me is ...
there are so man African American actors who could portray President Obama TO A TEE, why do they keep the present guy who is, IMO, not that good at it?

12. They should do that.
Edited on Sat Sep-26-09 05:47 PM by bigwillq
Indeed.
Just sounded like your previous post was asking them to change the part from someone else within the cast. That's why I asked my question.

15. and the one they have is not very funny- not the same level as Eddie murphy, Garrett Morris, Chris
Edited on Sat Sep-26-09 05:53 PM by BREMPRO
Rock, Tracy Morgan. Keenan is second rate in my opinion. I don't think SNL has every had more than one AA at a time on the cast and they used to sterotype AA's in way that was bordering on offensive.

19. Keenan always makes me laugh .
It's his personality, which always comes through no matter what character he's playing. Others may be better actors or better impressionists.

20. A matter of taste- I prefer actors that can step outside of themselves and create characters
seperate from their personality. He has done a few good bits that i've laughed at, but not the belly rolls i got from the other actors. Of all the current players, Kristin Wiig is my favorite. Her range and skill is tremendous. Here "just kidding" lady is brilliant, and The birthday party bit she did as a marilyn like floozy was outrageous!

24. I love Fred Armisen's impression of Obama. It took him a while to hone it ... but it's gotten good!
I thought he was hilarious in Thursday night's skit.

It doesn't bother me that the impression isn't done by an African-American. Daryl Hammond does Jesse Jackson ... wonderfully. And hey ... Obama's one-half white, so there you go!

17. lots to exploit for humor there- Barney Frank- "trying to have an argument with you is like arguing
with a kitchen table" Very topical too- each player can play an outrageous teabagger yelling idiotic conspiracy theories at Frank. good bet.

23. I dunno ... but PLEASE let Jason Sudakis do his Glenn Beck impression again!!
I'm still laughing from Thursday night! This time I want him to start crying Beckian crocodile tears.

(Sudakis' impression is relatively early in the opening skit, in case you missed it. AND DON'T MISS IT!)

29. Glenn Beck in a straightjacket,

being hand trucked by two people in white, into a studio with insane blackboard scribblings while singing a parody of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. He slips out of his straightjacket as easily as Mr. Rogers slips on a cardigan. Then he rambles on about crazy stuff. That how I would write it.
