Has anyone else noticed that NPR commentators often refer the the president as *Mr.* Obama instead of President Obama?
Did they say Mr. Bush? Seems to me they always said President Bush.

2. Most style manuals call for 'president' in the first reference, 'mister' in subsequent ones. |

4. I have noticed the same thing on local news broadcasts. |

It just doesn't sound right when the newscaster says, "Mister" instead of "President"...almost like they are being disrespectful.

6. Yes, they used to say "Mr. Bush" I prefer that, actually, over the ridiculous honorific.... |
