Edited on Sun Sep-27-09 11:06 AM by Liberal_in_LA
Nope, it's not a pitbull. picture of random Pomeranian. ill tempered dogs but I can't imagine them being a threat unless your ankles are bare or you reach down. My cat is 3 times bigger.

Judge bans Pomeranian from Colo. resort town

Story Published: Sep 24, 2009 at 5:54 PM PDT

By Associated Press
ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - A Pomeranian has been kicked out of a Colorado resort town after getting in trouble for biting and other bad behavior.

Municipal Judge Brooke Peterson told the dog's owner, Melinda Goldrich, that if the dog is seen again in Aspen, it will be rounded up by animal control officers and put to death. Goldrich was in court Wednesday on a charge of keeping a vicious dog.

An Aspen fitness club employee says the Pomeranian, named Gizmo, bit her in August while it was tied to a fence. The dog served 10 days in an animal shelter.

Goldrich had been under a court order to not leave Gizmo unattended after the dog bit another person in February. She also was cited in 2006 for the animal's bad behavior.

An out-of-town friend has offered to take the dog.

3. Good. I hate those little shits.
Grew up across the street from two of the worst dogs I have ever met in my life. Both were Pomeranians, both were vicious little bags of fuckfur.

4. Not much sympathy here
My son was bit by a dog when he was 3. And again when he was 4. A third time when he was 5. One of the bites was severe enough we had to quarantine him to reduce the risk of infection. After the third incident, we got him therapy to deal with his fear of dogs.

This woman was told to keep her dog under control. She obviously did not.

I can't tell you how thrilled we were when a judge ordered the dog who bit my kid out of our community.

5. Two questions
- if it was tied to a fence, how did it get to the fitness club employee who was bitten?

- why didn't the fitness club employee who was bitten step on its head?

6. The dog is lucky he is small. If it had been a big dog with
that many problems, my guess it would have been put down already.

7. You'd have an attitude too, if you looked like a furry rodent.
Adios, Gizmo.

8. That would make the second vicious "Gizmo" that I know of.
The Gizmo I know is a vicious Chihuahua mix, made that way by her irresponsible owner.

9. Small dogs bite
My parents have had small dogs for years, they become attached to my Dad and will even bite my Mom! Damn things love to try to bite me. I don't know why small dogs are so mean, I have a friend with a large, male German Shepherd who just comes up and licks my hand for some petting, likewise with a neighbor's Doberman.

10. Poor little dog, stupid people. That's right, punish the dog for...
having a moron for an owner. Anyone who puts themselves in range of a dog behind or tied to a fence should be prepared for the worst.

If you are stupid enough to let your children go up to strange animals then it is your fault if you child gets hurt.

And for the person who would like to crush the animals head. How would you like it if someone said that about your kids. Freak.

11. I have personally dispatched several vicious dogs
A large dog would have been put down by now. Yes its been mismanaged by the owner, but that is not our problem.

12. Ban the owner, not the dog.

Jesus. I have a Chow. My sister brought her home, unaware of their reputations. She ended up with me and I've had her for 12 years. She's actually quite gentle most of the time, but she has a natural aggressiveness and need to dominate everyone and everything that comes into her sphere. That being said, she's never attacked another dog or person because I don't tie her up and leave her unattended. It's really the owner who is to blame in about 99% of cases like this, and that includes most of the pitbull attacks. You do not leave a highly aggressive Alpha dog like a pitbull, rottweiler, pomeranian or chow unattended near people or animals. EVER. I don't care how gentle and cute they may normally seem. I've heard too many stories about pomeranians disfiguring children. I'd trust a chow over a pomeranian near a kid any day of the week. They are cute as hell, but they can be mean little shits. That being said, if you have a pet, it is your responsibility to ensure it is trained to the minimum not to bite or attack people, and if you have a breed that is known for their aggressiveness, you need to take the responsibility to ensure they are never given the chance to harm anyone.
