Bill Clinton: Obama Faces Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy
Ben Frumin | September 27, 2009, 11:09AM

On Meet the Press this morning, David Gregory asked former President Bill Clinton if he thinks there's a vast right-wing conspiracy against President Obama -- much like the one Hillary Clinton famously claimed her husband faced in the 1990s.

"Oh, you bet," the former President said. "Sure it is."

While it may not be as strong or widespread as the one he faced, Clinton said the right-wing conspiracy against President Obama is "as virulent" as the one Clinton faced himself. The former President didn't seem too worried about it though.

"He and his team have a positive agenda for America," Clinton said of Obama, before turning to his opponents. "Their agenda seems to be wanting him to fail."

having discarded Palin and Joe Plumber. Their idea of expanding the base is finding the closeted racists and coaxing them out. Wherever this is going -- it is not good. Their deep pockets and radical agenda is scary.

5. Not Joe the Plumber and Not Joe Wilson. Neither one of them was named Joe.
For reasons I have not yet identified, I find that funny.

3. Me thinks Faux news is at the corner stone of it all. If I had to pick one thing that will cause
the down fall of this nation, it would be citizens of this country who are full of hate, bigotry, and stupidity in combination with Faux news.

A very tenuous situation indeed.

10. Faux news is only part of a huge communications machine
that has been building their organization since the days of Nixon. Here's a nicely detailed article about how they did it and how we on the left conceded the media to them:

9. Wish Bill would not have drug this back up and instead said..
something along the lines of not that there was a "conspiracy" but instead more along the lines of Gore Vidal's quote of being how the elite don't have to conspire because they all think alike.

Dredging up stuff like this only makes people think of black helicopters and other things and allows for this serious area to be deflected under ridicule...

11. Not quite.
Conspiracies, by definition, act in secret, whereas the right-wing's destructive agenda (both against Obama and the country in general) is pretty much a matter of public record.

Their brand of "conspiracy" is as if Cassius stood up in the middle of a senatorial session to make an official proposal regarding the assassination of Caesar.
