Stunning model Fatou Cham is arrested in police raid on her house after tip-off

The new face of Tesco, chosen to star in a glossy advertising blitz, has been arrested for being an illegal immigrant.

Mother-of-three Fatou Cham, a 32-year-old checkout operator, won an in-house Tesco contest to be the face of its new autumn clothing range.

But she now faces deportation after a tip-off to immigration officials – and has been hurriedly dropped from the ad campaign.

Fatou beat hundreds of applicants to model clothes for Tesco’s Florence and Fred range after bosses opted to ditch professional models in favour of “real women”.

i am not sure it's QUITE the right word. the classic example of chutzpah is the guy who murders his family, then pleads to the court for leniency because after all he's an orphan.

but idiocy doesn't really do it for me either. i mean it is idiotic, but it's a certain kind of idiocy. hubris doesn't do it either.

it's kind of like the guy who has a suspended license and a 1/2 lb of cocaine in his car. speeding down the main thoroughfare of the town while in possession of same, is idiotic in that "special way"

I've seen this happen in the US more than I imagined it would. Bureaucratic processes require paperwork, often lots of it, and if you don't have all of it, the process gets delayed or, in some cases, stopped.

6. If you are breaking the law

you need to stay away from employment that put your face on TV, the Internet, Newspapers, or any other visual media.

It's like people breaking the law while video taping themselves, and then posting it on YouTube. They never think anyone is going to recognize them and drop a dime on them. Stupid.

14. some kids at UW did this

they committed some sort of theft/vandalism (I don't recall all the details) near or on campus, then BRAGGED about it and even posted pictures of it on their facebook or myspace pages (like i said, i'm quotin' from memory. it was a while ago).

the local cops busted them with the evidence they had chosen to put on the internet.

and they had the gall to claim their privacy had been violated. lol.

She came on a student visa in '98. Shit, It only takes 3 yrs to get a undergrad and a Masters takes about 1 to 2 yrs (2yrs if part-time). A Phd takes 3-4yrs...

If Americans can't get work visas in the UK easily, how can this chic think she could cheat the system. Sheesh, ppl regulate your stay and avoid the headache.
