2. Where is this? The Phillipines? I didn't think it was a typhoon, 'just'
a tropical storm.

I've been to Manila and seen where a lot of people live, in cardboard shacks. If this is there, it is so devastating. And rescue help can't even get through the streets.

The streets would flood in Cavite City, Olongopo, and Manilla even during a very heavy rain. I was in a weather recon squadron flying out of Guam in the late 60's, and we chased typhoons all over the Pacific.

Years later, when stationed in Japan and passing through P.I., the flooding streets were just as common.
