You mean 'drug and rape', not "..what Polanski reputedly did...", right? Or would that be too shocking for you to write and then come to the conclusion you wanted? He didn't slap her behind, or kiss her--he reputedly drugged and raped her.

Maybe if it had been your daughter or sister you'd feel just a tad different about this, no?

Served his time and then was re-sentenced for the same crime

is I said in comments on the original story that I thought the whole thing was her moms fault for 1) letting her do topless photos with him for playboy at 13 yrs old, and 2) not being there to chaperon when he did.
