OK, we know who the stinker banks are...why are people not removing their accounts |
|
from these banks? Take your business elsewhere to a bank that has good practices. Even if it is just moving the kid's savings account or your checking account, why keep them there?

They are afraid that they will get an even worse deal, or worse, be denied the right (?) to open an account.

2. I'm sure some people have done that, but not the BIG $$ |
|
those banks depend on. Those folks believe their $$ is safe and if the bank gets into trouble again, the Feds will bail them out again. Too big to fail ya know!

3. My Mom is with BOFA because direct deposit is a pain to change. |
|
So her direct deposits go into the BOFA account and she writes a check into the bank she actually uses.

11. One reason people are hesitant to switch is... |

It could take many years working with a new bank to get your credit line back up to the place it was with a bank you've been with for a while.

6. Where Do You Go...No Honor Among Theives.... |
|
Most people have few options as to where to move their accounts. Many local banks have been eaten up by bigger ones or got themselves in too deep with mortgages that they've defaulted or on the edge. And across the board, banks are looking for any way to "maximize" their earnings through all sorts of backdoor fees.

After bailing them out, I guess. Against my will.
Now I'm back with a small credit union, which I like much more anyway.

8. I've moved my money out. |
|
The problem is that the Fed keeps moving it back in.
That was my lame attempt at humor, though it isn't too far from the truth..

9. we're moving to a credit union as we speak... |
|
as soon as the accounts are open, I can switch hubby's direct deposit at his job.
the mortgage is with chase...at good fixed %. we will probably have to keep it there. But will do no more business with them. At some point we might get a different mortgage through the credit union, but it just depends....we might move or something.
