"Death Panels" ain't got nothing on this!

How can you be for the Death Penalty and be against the "Corporate Death Penalty"?

ACORN was smeared to death, and that sucks. So, how do we make the best of it?

If ACORN must go, the rest of all the Bush Era Crooked Contractors you know and loathe will just have to go too.

On Friday (Sept 25th), Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) inserted into the "legislative history" language spelling out that including all fraudulent organizations was, in fact, the intent of the Congress.

~snip~

"The bill imposes, and is intended to impose, a corporate death penalty on contractors who fall within the scope of its prohibitions."

3. It's only really a "card" if it can be played, and it can't be.

There's not a person in congress on either side of the aisle who thinks this suggestion will go anywhere. There are too many in congress with a vested interests in corporations for this to ever see the light of day. A good suggestion, but this is just for show.

They can not pick and choose which Contractors they think should be defunded under this bill. They will be called on it... What will happen since as you say no one will want to defund Halliburton, they will have to forego defunding ACORN as well. They will be forced to make a choice, either live by the bill or let it go by the way side..I don't believe Obama has signed off on this bill either. It has yet to become Law...I am fairly certain it will not become Law specifically for the reasons you mentioned.

5. The bill will never pass...
Edited on Mon Sep-28-09 11:48 AM by hughee99
and everyone knows that it will never pass. The law itself is a very interesting idea, but it's like threatening to take the sun away. It's never going to happen, so the threat isn't taken seriously.

In the end, the repukes don't care about it, and the only people that will potentially be affected is any Democrat who opposed it as it may turn up in a potential primary battle. But that won't matter either, since I don't think it will ever see a vote.
