In Response of todays events...considering such went on during our ummm attempt to free Iraqians from evil I just don't know what to say...there will always be people who will find ways to excuse that which does not hurt them personaly...

So I typed in these two political parties and googled...on first two links shows the page of links ...I am sick...I know this is alot to take in but in all reality, it is but the icing on the cake we can not excuse those found quility...

Death Penalty in Some Cases of Child Sex Is Widening

Oklahoma became the fifth state to allow the death penalty for sex crimes against children yesterday, a day after South Carolina enacted a similar law. The constitutionality of the new laws is unclear.
The Oklahoma measure, signed into law by Gov. Brad Henry, a Democrat, makes people found guilty of rape and other sex crimes more than once against children younger than 14 eligible for the death penalty.

• Republican Delegate Robert McKee, known as an advocate for children's rights, is the focus of a child pornography investigation after officers searched his Hagerstown, Md home. McKee is not facing any charges right now, but as of today, Feb 15, 2008, he has resigned his position as both a state delegate and as executive director of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Club of Washington County. In a statement, McKee said he is entering treatment to, "get well and stay well." Shock waves echoed through Hagerstown, as the news that he was being investigated for child pornography spread like wildfire.

He was sentenced to 3 years in prison on November 21, 2008. McKee's journals document that he simultaneously printed images of child pornography from the Internet and printed stories describing sexual acts between young boys and other young boys or adult men. Someone from McKee's home called the Washington County Sheriff's Department to tip off authorities and provided them with printed images from a computer.

• Republican sex offender & Department of Children & Families press secretary Al Zimmerman, 40, was arrested Friday, Feb 1, 2008 and charged with eight felony charges of using a child in a sexual performance. According to an arrest report, Zimmerman offered two teens money in exchange for photographing them in sexual acts. The victims were ages 16 and 17 at the time of the crime, and at least one may have been in the care of DCF at one point, according to the report. Authorities believe some of the images date back to December 2005, the arrest report showed. Zimmerman is suspected of taking photos as recently as Friday, the report showed.

• The Republican Mayor, who is also the Pastor of the Temple Lot Church in Collins Missouri, a town in St. Clair County, is accused of trying to convince someone whom he thought was a teenage girl to meet him for sex. Diamond police say Allen D Kauffman is charged in Newton County with four counts of enticement of a child after an online investigation that began in mid-November.
Diamond Police Detective Jim Murray says he posed as a 13-year-old girl named Cindy and was approached by a man who used the screen name duke dukeadk on Nov. 15 about noon in an online chat room.

Murray says Kauffman discussed meeting her to take nude photos and to have sex. Over the course of seven conversations during the past two months, transcripts show each chat was sexually graphic. Murray say Kauffman recognized the girl’s age, and even showed some hesitation, teasing the girl about whether she could be a cop.

Seems so. Republican House Speaker Denny Hastert has some serious explaining to do, after today's revelations that they knew about ex-Congressman Mark Foley's sexscapades a good year ago, and did nothing.

Whether or not the kid's parents were fine with letting it go, which the story says is the case, why did Republican House Speaker Denny Hastert permit Foley to remain in the House GOP leadership for almost a year after they knew he was having sex talk with minors online, minors he met on the job?

Why did Republican House Speaker Denny Hastert leave Foley as the co-chair of the House body in charge of child sex offenses for a good year after they knew?

Why did Republican House Speaker Denny Hastert permit Foley to stay in the House at all, where he would be around other pages every day all day long?

And just as importantly, why did Republican House Speaker Denny Hastert let Foley lie publicly yesterday about the emails, claiming they were innocent, and simply a dirty attack from the Democrats, when the House leadership knew the real story?

And finally, we find out that the FBI was contacted two months about this story. Was there any follow-up from the Bush FBI? Or did they just let this potential case of child sex offense go by the wayside because it involved a friend of Bush

2. Before either other thing is done in this regard, first the laws must be reviewed and standardized.

We can't even narrow "age of consent" to single definition that everyone understands. Age of consent can mean the age of consent to marry, or the age of consent to have sex. The two are not necessarily the same. So we read articles about this awful thing which was discovered, a "GROWN MAN" who had sex with "a GIRL" , except that she's the same age her grandmother was when her mother was born and he's the same age her grandfather was when he married her grandmother. There is a moral breakdown in society when laws don't make sense. It doesn't make sense to say that a 14 year old can get married and have sex all she wants, but if she isn't married then he's a child molester.

In some of the cases done in this thread by repugs...well, its obvious that some was consentual...so as you've stated...in my mind anyway age is an iffy thing...when that age involves teenagers...I recall one girl in intermediate school...by no means did this young girl look eleven...not even a teen yet..she came to school back then (no dress code) in very revealing shirts, short skirts and such but now we have..well if she got attacked..would some cry foul on her part simply because of the way she dressed?

I say they cannot, regardless that she walked around as if she knew it all, I have no doubt she was not all that experienced unless you count the experience of flirtation..is that a crime? does flirting in our society and revealing clothing remain an alibi for sexual offenders?

and your right about how hard it is to narrow down age of consent..I know of a thirteen year old girl who did indeed perform sexual acts in eight grade because she cared not who saw....now we can investigate further and wonder if she was perhaps damaged in someway early on as in raped and so in her own way began what some rape victims begin..sexual promescuity..

And your right..In the "old" days...thirteen was considered child bearing years...and many many much older men did indeed have sex with these young girls but lets go back to the time? Was the sex between young woman and old man allowed in they were married, yes...is it in more likelihood that said young female found her first time to be forced on her? I would say more often than not , yes...

I have no concrete answers for the age of consent..depends on the person I would have to say...but under teenage years I say unable to fully understand the ramifications of allowing yourself to engage in sex..beyond that age..well...kids have always known more than their parents believe of them but there has to be somewhere to draw the line
