The Right to Life - not just for the unborn anymore
This isn't about abortion, or *that* interpretation of "the right to life."

It's about health care in this country.

Thousands of Americans die every year because they cannot afford proper health care. What about their right to life?

2. K&R
This is such an important point.

How about we take care of the folks who are already here?

Sheesh.

6. Very Good point...
But according to the RW christers, you don't have a right to life unless you're one of them.. that's why they post polls like the one on facebook...

7. your right to life begins at 'conception' and apparently ends at birth.
i had posted regarding a response I had gotten to my response about a poll about federal funding for abortions in the healthcare bill.... i was trying to dispell this because i don't think it's true... though i guess if you are paying into the system and some of the plans offer it then it is available, but if you are paying the premiums, then how is that the government paying for it... but i digress... jack replied after a heated discussion i had with some guy who felt that adopting two kids gives him the right to decide what i could do with my body and jacks response was that somehow my rights cease at conception and i am some sort of carrier until the baby is born... so then i guess i have no rights at all. sorry, i don't think so. and i find it funny that i am having this argument as i was sitting there pregnant with a baby kicking me. I have since had that baby... and I wouldn't trade her for a thing. but that was my choice to make, not anyone elses.

8. What about the other "right to life" thing?
Remember the Terry Schiavo case?

9. The More I Think About This
The more I think a lot of the "Pro-Life" movement is more pro-fetus.

Case in point--the Catholic Church I go to had signs in the vestibule for a 40-day prayer campaign against abortion. I wondered, why no 40-day campaign against the War In Iraq, or for health care.

Then I remembered Handmaids Tale where the total control of women began with taking control of their bodies.

I may need to work both of these into my interview today at the local Planned Parenthood.
