so where does this nugget originate? on Fox or Rush?
I've been working a little part time evening job and a guy there who has seemed sort of apolitical brings up tonight that > 'this president' has 'only once' talked to the US's Iraq/Afghan Commander and that Bush used to call him up and talk to him everyday when he was president.

I sort of like this guy so I just played off that well, I haven't heard that (which I had not actually) and I said I knew the overall commander from Florida and the commander from Iraq/Afghan met last Friday in Germany, then I redirected onto to how it pisses me off we have been over there 8 years and not got Bin Laden yet. I said hell he used to work for the CIA and they don't know where he is? I think that is bullshit. Then this guy went on to how hell yes, a news reporter can find Bin Laden but the militasry can't.

So that is how it ended up, but I did not like the accusatory sound of that phrase, 'this president'.
Sounds like a festering boil-assed draft dodger to me... but it could be Fox too.

1. The only person W talked to every day
was his coke dealer. If the president talks to the on the ground commander every day, that is not keeping in touch, that is micro managing. And it's what caused a lot of problems during the Vietnam war, not that W had any idea about what went on then.

2. OxyRush and Hannity and the rest never refer to O as "President"

It's always "Obama" with those assholes. They don't want to dignify him.

Likewise our Sec State is always "Hillary" or "Missus Clinton".

These assclowns are so juvenile it's pathetic.

6. And yet...
...they still push their discredited little meme that all the "leebrool meedyuh" only referred to * as "Mr. *" and not "President *".

But it's okay when it's just some un-American leebrool brown Kenyan Moozlem socialist fascist Commienazi!

Jesus H, but I despise these people sometimes.

A lot really with *'s hand in it every day explains why it is so completely F***ed up.... Obama is smart enough to realize that he doesn't know how to run a war, leave it to the experts....that is what they get paid to do....

8. It originated, I think, with CBS
Washington Times reported it. As if that's believable.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/sep/28/mcchrystal-talked-obama-once-70-days/

The military general credited for capturing Saddam Hussein and killing the leader of al Qaeda in Iraq says he has spoken with President Obama only once since taking command in Afghanistan.

"I've talked to the president, since I've been here, once on a VTC (video teleconference)," Gen. Stanley McChrystal told CBS reporter David Martin in a television interview that aired Sunday.

"You've talked to him once in 70 days?" Mr. Martin followed up.

"That is correct," the general replied.

9. President Obama does not need to talk to General McChrystal on a regular basis
General Stanley McChrystal is in the chain of command, and the people the President needs to be talking to are Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and the Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen.

The whole notion that something is amiss because the President has not met with a field commander is bogus. First off there it the telephone, telegraph, email, and twitter. Second, and more important, how often did previous Presidents meet with field commanders? I don't thing President Truman met with MacArthur until it was time to inform the General he was on the short list to find another job
