I never liked Rudy Giuliani.
I don't like him now.

I don't expect to like him next week or the week after or in ten thousand years.

Thank you.

5. What worked pretty well in New York City politics and public relations
with the drag event didn't seem to win Rudy a lot of pals on the Far Right in the 08 primaries.

A lot of the Puke base distrusts anybody from north of Richmond, Virginia to begin with, let alone someone who's allegedly pro-choice, and who dressed in drag, and who roomed with gay roommates when his marriage went to hell.

3. the main reason he got so much kudos for 9/11
is that bush's complete ineptitude made Guiliani simply doing his job as New York mayor look like a superhuman

4. Yes. Dubya was so disconnected that a back-alley hack like Giuliani
was made to look like an action figure.

10. Also he got great photo ops, having been dumb enough to
position the command center (post first WTC attack) IN one of the towers..

21. He told ABC's Peter Jennings that he was told the towers were going to
collapse and to seek safe refuge. Problem is, he didn't tell the first responders.

7. Odd to say, no. They kinda give me the creeps. I think you accurately
characterize Giuliani with that term. There is about him a selfish resolve, attained by virtue of his having ascended the power structure by an ends-justifying-the-means M.O.

9. He does seem to attract a pretty rough crowd.
And there was the cozy little apartment he kept downtown with his pal Bernie Kerik for love trysts.

Stay classy, Rudy.

13. Yes. There is the high bullshit quota to him, and also that he's long ago
abandoned whatever it was that made him an ambitious Democratic politician years back.

I shudder when I think about "Giuliani Time" in New York City.

14. Rudy's UnElectable...
On several fronts. Partly is he was rejected by his own party last year. Seems like some have forgotten all the money Rudee spent to get all of one electoral delegate. He ran an inept campaign that got worse the more scrutiny that was paid attention to him. The fundie don't like him cause of his divorces and that he's from New York and his neo-con friends are a small and almost invisible segment of that disintegrating party.

Rudy is also unelectable because of Rudy. He wants to run the show...he the boss and there are few jobs that offer that kind of power. Governor is one, but Rudy won't be happy because he'd have a legislature that isn't his handpicked toadies. I'm sure he'd love to be President but doesn't have either the ethics or the organization to do it.

The only ones who have wet dreams about Rudeee these days are his friends in the corporate media.

17. I take encouragement from your observations, KharmaTrain, not only
because I really am encouraged by them, but because if you hold these views, they are likely substantive and reliable.

I'll stop what I'm doing to read what you have to say on any topic on this site.

It doesn't mean I have to like his politics ...

19. Agree. The drag event gave us a Rudy with a little zing, unlike the
tough-guy a-hole he is ordinarily.

Interestingly, the thing that made him momentarily likable to some repelled the Republican base and helped bring him down in his bid for the nomination.

16. I heard him hawking some kind of motivational speaking tour yesterday.
Kept hearing this commercial on an Orlando radio station and the voice sounded familiar. First thought was Mel Blanc , but remembered he was dead. Well who else does a good Sylvester the Cat impression? Hmmm.... oh yeah Wudy!

Sounds like a stellar day of speechifying with Laura Bu$h and super patriot Colin Powell, some televangelist (I think) AND Terry Bradshaw.

And you can bring your entire office for just $19.00

to bring it all home I never liked him either.

22. Nineteen bucks. Hell, I'd pay several times that just to not hear Wudy.
Your descriptions are excellent.

Giuliani is a real tough guy to warm up to. I deeply hope he does not seek public office again at any level.

20. I am very concerned over the reports in the public record about
the treatment of immigrant citizens and violence visited upon them by agents of then-Mayor Giuliani's police force.

See on the google and bing searches under "Giuliani Time."
