Dylan (MSNBC) just absolutely MURDERED a
Edited on Tue Sep-29-09 09:31 AM by Subdivisions
health insurance lobbyist!

"Would you support a piece of legislation that repeals the exemption of health insurance companies from the Sherman Anti-Trust Act?"

Ratigan was literally shouting and nearly seething with anger. The lobbyist could not, would not, answer the question.

He then said: "Let it be known by our viewers that the insurance company lobbyist refuses to answer the question!"

That was excellent! If more teevee talking heads would be this aggressive, it would either cause their downfall from a lack of guests or it would finally serve to inform, rather than bullshit, us.

Brought up other organizations that have committed fraud and the republican't idiot could only stick to his given schtick. Dylan sends him off at the end of the segment with: "Thank you for your paid opinion."

9. He was asking the lobbyist if he favored the continuation of
the exemption of the Sherman anti-trust act for insursance companies.

the lobbyist refused to answer and kept on dodging the question.

Dylan said Major League Baseball and the insurance industry are the only two entities that have an

exemption.

I used to work for a container ship line, and I remember hearing in my new hire training that the overseas shipping industry has an exemption, as well. It's been a long time, though, things might have changed since then.

27. Ritter left me frankly wondering if
Hillary is the right person for the SoS job. I'm hoping that her stand is just a negotiating stance and that the President and she are open to more than the same old-same old hardline BS that is cranked out to maintain the status quo in the ME. Ritter had some very excellent points to make about the distribution of power and the reality of armaments. If we are going to insist on adherence to regulation of nuclear facilities in the world, then the regulations need to be applied to all holders of the technology--Israel included.

Basically, he said that the Obama administration was going through the same motions as the Bush admin was before invading Iraq.

It was very disconcerting, and the similar thought about Hillary occurred to me as well.

Frankly, I expected better from the Obama administration. I see the entire Iran thing in completely new light now, after that segment on MSNBC today.

Good job! Perhaps a little too aggressive and loud, but at least he drove the point home! Personally, I had no idea that insurance companies were exempt from the Sherman Anti-Trust Act! Why should they be exempt??? This is ridiculous and obscene!

Anyway, it was definitely very informative. Arianna was pretty good, too. I'm going to start listening to MSNBC every morning now!

Rachel, Ratigan, and Big Ed are the only 3 who will call someone out as a liar - in most cases, politely (unless )and will continue to pursue an answer to their questions. When I watch any of them I don't have to scream at the TV my follow up questions. :)

Let's show them some love - write them and MSNBC and let them know what you think. Then write all the other stations and tell them that these 3 ARE REAL REPORTERS and their talking hairdo's should learn from them.
