Draw your own conclusions.....the hypocrisy seems pretty clear to me, but I never expected anything different.

1. South Dakota looks pretty saintly....
maybe its because it has a low population density compared to other areas.

7. No you're reading it backwards - the purple means SD is devilish.
Two possible reasons off the top of my head:

1) statistics show that STD's (and drug abuse and alcoholism) are high on Native American reservations; and

2) is this a meth production center?

5. Misleading & biased is an understatement
They should have isolated the stats by income & education level. I believe poverty & ignorance are the roots of all sin, not pride.

How surprising that crime & poor nutrition are highest in areas of high unemployment, low education & no hope for future improvement. STD's my aunt Myrtle May. How many stillborn births & birth defects per capita, particularly in Texas?

My conclusion is that poor, ignorant people turn heavily to religion for hope, and religions frequently exploit them. So this is a statistically blessed attack on the Bible-belt by well-educated collegians.

The South needs more colleges & scholarships, many fewer ministers & a public option for healthcare since the jobs are in China. It doesn't need more blue staters crowing about how much better/smarter/healthier & holier THEY are.

10. Its not biased.
It says it is done by geographic region, nothing more.

They should have isolated the stats by income & education level. Well, that would have been a completely different study. Im not saying you are wrong, I too would like to see it broken down that way, but they just didnt do it like that.

9. Wow... I live in a pretty saintly area of the Bible Belt
East Tennessee didn't really have too much outside of fast food restaurants.
