Personally I think anyone who voted "yes" in that Obama/Facebook poll should be watched too....
http://rawstory.com/2009/09/poll-should-obama-killed/

The poll, which Cory Bantic at DailyKos says has been up “since at least 8 p.m. ET” on Sunday, states plainly: “Should Obama be killed?” The possible answers are: Yes, Maybe, “If he cuts my health care,” and No, in that order.

As of noon Monday, 90 percent of respondents had said “no.” Just over five percent said yes, 2.6 percent said maybe, and 1.9 percent said “if he cuts my health care.”

3. The difference between us and them:
I just wanted Bush out of the White House and behind bars if possible. I would never ever wish the man dead.

Unlike the freepers who think using a gun solves all their problems

:grr:

14. I don't. It's a stupid internet click poll.
No one went out of his way to do it. There is no sign of serious intent or capability. And, it would be a waste of resources when you consider that there are certainly some actual dangers out there.

Saying, "I wish someone would shoot that bastard." is not the same as saying you have $50K and are looking to hire someone to do it; regardless of who "tht bastard" is.

4. well - lets think about this
I heard there were 700 that voted. So 5% - or 35 - voted "yes".

I assume to watch 35 people, we would need 3-4 agents per person to account for different shifts.

So you would support tying up 100-140 agents with this nutty poll.

I would support contacting each and notifying them of the consequences. But to actually "watch" these people - not sure it is worth that cost.

Or by "watch" did you mean something else?????

7. How about people who buy or rent this movie?
(I'm not defending the "poll", just trying to locate the goal posts) :-)

13. It was a question, not a talking point, and I have zero interest in what's at free republic.
If you don't think it's a legitimate question you could just say so and explain why instead of resorting to sly innuendo which has no basis in truth.
:-)

12. There could be hundreds of reasons for renting/buying that video, none having to do with wishing
b*sh dead.

15. Can we agree that there is a difference between asking if something "should" happen
and wishing for it to? I'm pretty old and I recall when linguistic precision was appreciated. Thanks.

19. Ironically I had no desire to do either with that movie
And I saw just about every anti-Bush movie that came out in the 8 years he was in office.

Internet tough guys are not the SS's real problem.

18. I don't think each person needs to be followed
But I'm guessing the Secret Service has a giant list of those who have made threats against the president even in the most casual of ways

11. Definitely should be watched! They need to be held accountable and responsible for their actions!
Hoover would have had them held for questioning... then would have added them to his watch list. Makes no difference which political party, this nonsense is getting out of control.

explicitly advocate assassination of Obama.

22. I suspect they'll collect the names
an add it to the list of suspect persons.

The SS maintains such a list with different levels of concern and scrutiny.

These folks will probably make the lowest rung, which means nothing happens unless an occasion occurs where they would be in close proximity to the President (or any future President).
