Do we have 53 votes now for the public option? |

http://standwithdrdean.com/where_congress_stands?chamber=Senate&party=D&state=&hc_status=&commit=FilterIf you add Carper and Nelson to this list, we have 53 Senators that will vote for a public option. Do you think they are reliable to stand by their votes in the Finance committee?

3. They still can't be trusted. |
|
They may have voted for it because they knew it would tank and didn't want to incur the same wrath the other 3 are rightfully getting right now.

6. But I heard Nelson during discussion, he seemed pretty supportive |
|
And I think he would eventually support the Rockefeller public option too

8. we've been glad-handed by the DINOs from day one |
|
they take a soft position when they speak, but they know how the votes will shake out. sorry if I'm cynical - I've followed Nelson for way too long to expect anything different from him.

5. If what is being reported is true, that Harry Reid doesn't need a public option, |
|
wouldn't that end it there. Isn't it Harry who brings it up for a vote and if he doesn't, what happens next?

7. Yeah, but the Republicans say the Senate needs 80 votes |
|
And we all know that since they got some votes in the last election, they're in charge of things, so we all need to listen to what the Republicans say. That's why they're on all the teevee shows, and all the commentators invite them back again and again. Because what they say, goes. Elections have consequences, you know. And some people voted for the Republicans, so that's all there is to it.
Sit back and enjoy the cumulative wisdom of the talking chuckleheads and their Republican masters.
