Senators: Give up YOUR free healthcare! |
|
Yesterday's Senate Finance Committee vote was the last straw.
I have frickin' had it with these god-damned hypocrites!
How DARE these assholes on the Senate Finance Committee vote to deny American citizens a public option on health care reform?
How DARE these spoiled pets of the insurance corporations accept insurance company campaign donations while ignoring the needs of American voters?
How DARE they enjoy their own taxpayer-funded FREE health care benefits while millions of Americans are uninsured?
How DARE they ignore the needs of Americans who are being bankrupted by outrageous medical bills, or being denied coverage because of pre-existing conditions like being alive and breathing?
These shitheads need a little history lesson. Remember Marie Antoinette and her comment, when told the French peasants had no bread? She, in her pampered ignorance, suggested they eat cake instead. Remember where she ended up?
A time may be approaching when average Americans are no longer going to be able to tolerate the selfish greed of the rich, the corporations, and their minions in Congress. We are reaching the limits of how far we can be pushed and ignored and ripped off.
These senators should give up their free health care coverage NOW! What have they done to deserve such privileged status?
Or maybe we need to dissolve the patrician Senate and let the House of Representatives serve as the sole legislative branch.

5. So, when do we march on DC and live there for a month? |
|
Now, when are we going to march on Washington and stay there until we get what we need?
One day of protest ain't going to cut it. We need to live in DC for a month. A rotating group of 50,000 people for a month might finally get some news coverage and make our government listen. Just like Cindy Sheehan did outside the Crawford Texas.
So, how do we organize it?????

7. These assholes have no interest in promoting the collective |

good of the American people. All that crap you learned in school about American democracy and our representatives representing us is a fairy tale right up there with Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. Ignorant people vote for whichever candidate collected the most in campaign donations from the special interests they truly intend to represent. Voters are simply a means to an end.
True story. My brother settles claims for a homeowner's insurance company. He was assigned to the claim of a bigshot Democratic fundraiser a few years ago. Mr. Fundraiser liked him and invited him to attend a gathering he was hosting for Gray Davis who was then running for Calif. governor. No strings attached and no money involved. So my brother shows up and watches the proceedings. A bunch of people in expensive clothes are hobnobbing with Davis who had arrived with an entourage. Davis doesn't recognize my brother and ambles over. No small talk. First question out of the candidate's mouth, "Who are you and how much are you contributing?" My brother replies that he's there as a guest of the host and isn't in a position to offer financial support but will be supporting Davis with his vote. Looking pissed that he's just wasted a few precious seconds on a peon Davis turns on his heels without another word and walks away.
These guys don't give a shit about the little guy. The only thing they see and respond to is $$$$$$$$$.

12. I seem to recall Bernie Sanders saying he paid $300+ per month for pretty basic coverage. |

I'm not among those who say "we want what you've got" to Congress -- unless it's one of them who's on Medicare. That's what I want. H.R. 676

19. I wonder that they should be "employees" |
|
We could argue from that point of view.
Being a Senator isn't a job in the strict view. You get paid to do it, but it doesn't have to come with health care.
Maybe there'd be a notion that it wouldn't attract good people, but that's not the case either. these people want power and they work to be elected to wield it, so not having health insurance come along with the "job" would not be a deterrent to the "best" people.
let them pay for their own health care out of their own pockets on terms of any other self employed person.
