Dear DSCCC, DCCCC & other Worthless Beggars
Since you have no spine and can't seem to remember who you work for -
stop sending me shit
stop calling
go the fuck away

I AM NOT GIVING ANY MORE MONEY- got that?
it wouldn't matter if we had 75% majority in both house and senate - nothing would get done, except making corporate interests happy.
leave me the fuck alone.

1. Worthless is right
I can not take credit for this idea, but the DCCC just sent me a letter begging for funds. I wrote on it "Pass a public option, then I'll think about supporting you. And, since you do not support me as of now, please do not come begging for my money. Also, do not expect my vote come next election season. You get enough money from your real bosses, and looking at your priorities, I know who they are!" I then mailed it back using their pre-paid postage envelope. I will repeat this on any correspondence sent my way from now on. I expect to be taken off their mailing list, hah!

3. And now that you got his off your chest
you do know, do you, that the DSCC and DCCC also support those senators and reps respectively that you probably like? Or do you intend to, once you tell these "worthless beggars" to "fuck away" to start donating to the RSCC and RCCC?

Did you listen or read what ROckefeller (the much maligned in the past Rockefeller) said yesterday? If you didn't, you should.

6. No they don't they support the corporatists. You can always give DIRECTLY to any candidate
and cut out the middle man.

When you give directly then YOU get the credit and the politician will be more willing to listen to you.

When you give to the DNC, DCCC or DSCC they listen to the people who run THOSE organizations instead of you and they get to influence these politicians with YOUR money.

NEVER give to these organizations - especially NOT before the primaries are over - ALWAYS give directly to candidates you personally choose to support.

The "United Way" method doesn't help YOU in politics.

9. I have already sent back their requests for money in their prepaid
envelopes with a note stating that until I see a decent health care bill passed by our Democratic majority Congress that they will see not one contribution from me until that happens.

15. Sure. They open the envelopes looking for money. When a short note
drops out instead, they have to read it out of curiosity.

14. Recommended.
My only suggestion is that people take the time to explain to the callers exactly why you will not donate a penny to them. Let them know that you are not alone, but part of a larger grass roots group that will only donate to specific candidates.

20. I've had
a number of equally rude people. However, I just keep talking and talking. The last fellow who called told me that I "obviously" wasn't old enough to remember the LBJ years. Bad mistake on his part. (There are people who know more about LBJ's administration than I, but I am friends with the best-informed among them.)

I've also had an equal number of callers who say that they understand my position, and have had others tell them the same thing.

22. I always contribute to them, even when I think they're spineless.
But--

When I feel they're not representing me, the "donation" is a check for $.01 - $.99 .

It's still a donation, they still take it, but it costs them as much to process as they gain from the check.

I always write them a note explaining why the donation's so small. I raise my concerns, I give them constructive criticism, and I give them a realistic estimate about how much I *could* donate if I thought they were looking out for our interests.

I also leave a little "sound byte" ("Single Payer Now!") in the "Memo:" area of the check.

So far, though, it hasn't worked.
