1. Faux is not a news organization. They are a political arm of the repuke |
|
party. It's about time they were called out on this more.

2. Good. I hope they'll make more enemies and be more exposed for what they are |
|
which is, of course, a propaganda arm of the extreme loony right.

3. I've yet to have a "conservative" tell me they were kept from voting in 2008 |
|
They have no idea what the original tea party was all about, they just spend hours upon hours looking at their radios.

4. why would they do that? |
|
With the disproportionate amount of coverage that ALL the media outlets have given this small group of racist assholes, why should they protest any of them? Oh....wait...I forgot, the answer to my question is "because Faux told them to". Silly me...(slaps forehead)

6. That's a new low, alright. |
|
For a moment I thought 'nah, it's got to be an advert on their site that just matches the website colors', but sure enough, they're pimping themselves out. Of course, if anyone liberal decided to hold a protest outside a Fox office to complain about their lies and dishonesty, fox would be all 'leebruls want to censor us WHAT ABOUT THE FIRST AMENDMENT'.

8. It seems to me they're trying to inoculate their sheep |
|
against believing any other source of news. They want to make sure that if a Fox News viewer is accidently exposed to a fact or opinion on another network that contradicts what Fox told them, they will reflexively dismiss it as "liberal propaganda." Many of them already do this, of course.

10. of course they are - it's how they got their start too, in a way |
|
They undermined (the stupid half of) Americans' trust in the media before they came on the scene claiming to be "fair and balanced" so this is the same old crap.
Sadly, it works too. I've had people tell me with a straight face that the teabag events are "the voice of the majority of Americans" and similar rubbish. Ugh.

This is one of those situations where neither side is really a win.
True, Fox News is one of the marketing arms of the right wing. They don't try very hard to pretend to be journalists or have integrity.
On the other hand, the mainstream media in general does not serve and benefit the general public. It's pretty much the marketing arm of huge multinational corporations.
So it's hard for me to get too excited that ABC, NBC, CBS, etc is getting dissed by Fox.
