Farmer's daughter hits home-invading militant with an axe, kills him with his own AK47

Rukhsana Kausar, 21, was with her parents and brother in Jammu and Kashmir when three gunmen, believed to be Pakistani militants, forced their way in and demanded food and beds for the night.

His daughter was hiding under a bed when she heard him crying as the gunmen thrashed him with sticks. According to police, she ran towards her father’s attacker and struck him with an axe. As he collapsed, she snatched his AK47 and shot him dead.

She also shot and wounded another militant as he made his escape.

She may also receive a £4,000 reward if, as police believe, the dead terrorist is confirmed as Uzafa Shah, a wanted Pakistani LeT commander who had been active in the area for the past four years.

Supt Shafqat Watali said Miss Kausar’s reaction was “a rude shock” for the militants. “Normally they get king-like treatment but this was totally unexpected,” he said.

The style of dress there has a lot to do with the climate - and long, free-flowing dresses and scarves serve as a built-in air-conditioner for the body.

I know a lot of people claim some religion is responsible, but a lot of it, in reality, has to do with keeping cool.

I've heard this before and nobody ever comes back to answer when I try to figure out how they've come to this conclusion.

I AM a farmer. I work outside every single day in Illinois. Hot, sticky, humid weather finds me in a tank top, shorts and sneakers. I know what I'm coolest wearing. There's a plethora of data supporting the fact that wearing hats and scarves keeps the body heat IN.

Marathon runners (and other elite outdoor sports athletes who have access to the best data on keeping cool) wear virtually nothing. Tribes in the Kalahari desert, or the Aborigines in Australia wear virtually nothing cuz it's cooler. These are tribes with thousands of years of history dealing with hot weather (but who don't have misogynistic, patriarchal religions!)

And by the way, that woman in the pic is kick ASS!
