I have come to the conclusion that I don't think Obama is in charge
Remember how Cheney said he still has folks in 'the company' that report to him, not the President?

Wonder why Obama can't get anything done - its not his fault. He's pulling every lever he knows and the car still won't start. Why is this?

Simple - he's not the one who's really in charge, and I think he's learning that right now.

Who is in charge? Hell if I know, but I know they aren't democratically elected and I know they do not have our best interests in mind.

Call me a crazy paranoid conspiracy guy - but tell me, in a democracy, why would it be so hard to do anything other than give $$$ to banks? Especially if something like Single Payer has the support in this country that it does.

it's time we quit apologizing for these politicians - all of em - and start expecting them to live up to campaign promises.

The Dems have not delivered on any key changes - that includes congress and the WH. That should not be tolerated. Either they deliver as promised - or they should step aside.

5. The health care lobby isn't exactly a hidden force.
And Obama is not for single payer, didn't campaign on it and didn't promise it.

Now, if you want to talk about the Pentagon and CIA specifically, you may have an argument there.

7. It's hard to get things done when
you follow the Constitution. We just spent 8 years with an out-of-control executive branch and a rubber stamp Congress. Obama is letting Congress make the laws. That's their job, and they do it very slowly and often very badly.

8. That was true when Chimpy was the prez...
that is, folks who reported to Cheney, not Bush.

No doubt there are a few right-leaning bureacrats in Washington and the Pentagon who are more apt to share their gossip and gripes with Cheney. But in all likelihood, people of that ilk are many rings away from the Inner Circle of power. Obama's hand-picked people work there, not Cheney's.

21. Okay. I speculate that the richest 1 %
of the country has more control over what happens than the bottom 70%.

That is what I took from the OP. When 65% of the country has said that they want a public option and it is still being debated, I think my speculation is pretty valid.

What thread are you replying to? How does this post relate even remotely to the thread?

Are you disagreeing that the ultra rich have more say about what happens than the rest of us? If so, then say that instead of something wishy washy.

If, on the other hand, you've gotten tangled up in mass snark replies and just confused the issue, we understand.

25. Most of the Big CTs that people go bugfuck in denial over is simply Big Business doing business
Sure, there's plenty of religion and authoritarian leanings/ideology, but basically it's just the only way Big Biz can conduct itself outside the law while attempting to maintain the appearance of being moral, law abiding, and acting on behalf of The People's best interests.

near that level of dialogue (something related to discussion, which we can't get to either), at the center of your points is a big honking mess of sexism that makes the whole authoritarian sham possible and possible to encase in the hard, chocklitty shell of "moral, law abiding, blah blah blah.........." Good reason for real progressives to unburden themselves of the delusions and crude comforts of sexism and other bigotry.

Republican Presidents seem to have carte blanche

Democratic Presidents, it seems like most Fed Employees take a "optional" attitude to their orders
