My friend is about to lose his leg & having a problem getting a referral

anyone know of any trials or diabetes specialists in So Cal, who might take a patient into a study?

He has been seeing a doctor who has already told him he is going to "lose that leg", and I am convinced that he needs a second opinion..and SOON..and out of his "group" plan.

He's very depressed and worried.

His ladyfriend cannot do much for him, since she's not married to him. His doctors don;t even tell her much, and he's in such a funk, I'm afraid he'll wait too long and actually end up losing the leg.

They have a message board over there. Maybe someone there might know something?
