Only thus are phrases from "intellectual elitism" down to "grammar nazi" well-explained, for example. It's a nice Nietzschean inversion - but of pure reason, rather than practical, as he originally told the story.

Until Americans stop taking belligerent pride in their stupidity, but rather take pride in growing and cultivating their intellects, national progress will be glacially slow, at best.
