You're about as likely to get a progressive dem Senator out of Arkansas
as you are to get a conservative out of Vermont. Yeah, I'd like to see Lincoln and Bayh and Nelson of NE out, but anyone who thinks that they're going to be replaced by a progressive dem just isn't dealing with the political environment of those states.

1. I remember Dale Bumpers
but that was a long time ago. So maybe you are right.

Even William Fullbright, big hero to anti-Vietnam war people, was a segregationist.

3. No need to work against them, and no need to donate or work for them.
Lincoln or Republican--same difference.

4. Probably right but some of these conservatives can be pushed,
,challenged, or have their minds changed.

Most of them can be bought pretty cheap too. Maybe we need to set up a moneybomb PAC just for these sort of folks. The netroots ought to be able to come together and bring serious dollars to the table to buy our agenda like everyone else does. I think the Obama election demonstrated that we can pool our small dollars together to huge effect. We need to get serious and organized to really push an agenda.
