The BrItish are having a massive church service now |
|
live on BBC about their withdrawal from Iraq. It is a scathing condemnation of the decision-making process which led them into Iraq. BBC also showed interviews with Iraqis and had some objecive commentary talking about hte thousands and thousands of Iraqi deaths. Among the interviewees was a priest in Iraq who said if freedom and democracy are what caused all the death and edestruction in Iraq he could do without it.
The Archbishop of Canterbury is tearing them a new one re the search for justice.
I'm surprised this is receiving live coverage.

1. I'm not surprised it got coverage - it's an official service, with the Queen there |
|
I wasn't listening, but it's more surprising if the archbishop was getting political. Mind you, it has happened in the past - at the commemoration service for the Falklands, the then archbishop talked about reconciliation, and Thatcher considered him a pinko leftist from then on. Of course, that archbishop (Runcie) had won the Military Cross for bravery in WW2, so Thatcher was full of shit, as per usual.

5. The majority of Brits were always against the invasion and occupation |
|
of Iraq. Tony Blair and his goons ignored the opposition and went along with Bush.
