The Contrast is Stunning.
Edited on Fri Oct-09-09 06:55 AM by Stuart G
With this President and the last. The feelings the world has for our President now are so completely different from before. This award proves it. The last one was probably the most hated person in the world while this one is clearly the most admired.

1. Agree. Stunning is the word. Good will matters and Obama is good
will personified.

Proud and happy that we have a leader who is recognized around the world for peace and honesty instead of war and lies

8. If one is not stunned
by the contrast they are blinded by hate.

5. I thought you were talking about a fart
Edited on Fri Oct-09-09 07:13 AM by DainBramaged
because some here have their panties twisted in a knot over the award and you'd think they were in a fart room. ALSO, a LOT of the naysayers I am dealing with are 'AHEM' not living here in Americas (from their profiles) so I guess MY pride doesn't affect them at all.

7. Don't confuse the Nobel committee with a popular vote.

But I do agree, this certainly can speak for the perception the world has of our President. But still, it was not a popular vote, and Obama has still allot of trust to win. Living in Europe makes me pretty certain that after the last 8 years America will have to prove its change of course with actions that go further than what we have seen so far. Of course, Obama has the benefit of the doubt, but I hear allot of cynical comments about him here, it's not as if America has suddenly become something different altogether in the views of the Europeans I talk too. It's a beginning, for sure.
