My Local Radio Station Ignored The President's Nobel Prize, So...
...I sent them an e-mail. Here it is.

"I'm curious. Is the fact that a sitting United States President has won the nobel Peace Prize for the first time since 1919 and only the third time ever not newsworthy enough for the morning crew? Is Jon (the morning DJ) waiting for Glen Beck's or Rush Limbaugh"s talking points before addressing this? Ordinarily his conservative bias is only a mildly annoying aspect of an otherwise entertaining show. This, however, is disrespectful and unacceptable"

The station is "92 Moose" in Augusta, Maine. It's a fun top 40ish station. My son enjoys it and so do ChicaAzul and I (even though when I'm in the car alone I'm listening to the classical station). I do like to be a bit of a gadfly to 92, though.

BTW, some WONDERFUL things are about to happen for our family and our time of homelessness will soon be over. I want to wait until it's accomplished before I post about it, though!

PEACE!

3. Thanks, babylonsister!
We have been together in a transitional apartment since we brought our son home in July. One of the things we're proud of is the fact that we are almost through a very bad time and we're as strong (no, srtonger) as a family than before.

I'll write about it in a few weeks!

PEACE!

5. Good point about the historical significance! It's interesting.

"...the fact that a sitting United States President has won the nobel Peace Prize for the first time since 1919 and only the third time ever..."

And (correct me if I'm wrong), this is only the fourth time that ANY U.S. President--sitting or former--has won the Prize. (Fifth if you count Al Gore. ;) )
