So, we're all to believe that this magic "trigger option" will cure all the healthcare industry's woes and a public option won't be needed because insurance companies are going to pull a complete 180 and offer affordable plans (even to those with pre-existing conditions) and won't required huge deductibles and co-insurance percentages and high annual out-of-pocket limits and won't limit lifetime benefits for conditions?
Excuse me for a moment while I ponder the probability of this happening.... : : :
Ok, I'm back and I'm still waiting to see how this could ever happen. Insurance companies are going to willingly give up those tens of billions in profits? HA! Yeah, right! Stop pulling my...."trigger".
ALSO, how long are we supposed to wait to see if these wondrous lower-premium plans materialize? 1 year? 2 years? 5 years? Then what? Then wait ANOTHER few years until a public option can be put into place (assuming some future form of Congress doesn't turn around and gut the pending change)??
This country cannot afford to wait!
People cannot afford to wait!

1. Congress should stop giving the health insurance industry an opportunity to screw us! |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-14-09 06:39 AM by AndyA
The industry could have policed itself, and made sure affordable health care options were available for everyone.
The industry could have made sure competitive offers were available in all areas to keep prices low.
The industry could have encouraged more people to get insurance by offering more affordable options.
The industry did none of these things.
The industry has been raising rates faster than any other area, cutting benefits, and deciding who lives and who dies for decades. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
Those in Congress who continue to protect these crooks must be voted out of office the next time they run. Period. They obviously DO NOT have our best interests in mind.

The industry doesn't HAVE to refuse to cover people based on pre-existing conditions...it CHOOSES to!
It drives me nuts when I see an insurance lobbyist or apologist on TV saying how they too want real reform...like eliminating pre-existing condition restrictions!!! Well, gee...you all can do that any time you like! Who's stopping you???

4. Here's one to toss out to the right-wingnuts (they'll be at a loss of words) |
|
Ask them this:
How exactly did the Founding Fathers show their deference to corporations over individuals and where exactly is that verbiage in the Constitution? Esp since corporate "personhood" didn't exist then!!

6. And I thought the trigger had already been pulled. |

I thought that HCR was caused by a trigger.
How many will die waiting for the trigger?
