A Louisiana Justice of the Peace won't marry interracial couples
http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/news/2009/10/interracial_couple_denied_marriage_license_in_la.php?ref=fpblg

A Louisiana justice of the peace said he refused to issue a marriage license to an interracial couple out of concern for any children the couple might have. Keith Bardwell, justice of the peace in Tangipahoa Parish, says it is his experience that most interracial marriages do not last long. Neither Bardwell nor the couple immediately returned phone calls from The Associated Press. But Bardwell told the Daily Star of Hammond that he was not a racist.

Well, it’s certainly nice to know that he’s not a racist. It would be even nicer to see a Neanderthal like him enter the 20th century. (Forget about his entering the 21st century. Sometimes, you’ve fallen back so far that you’re studying a rock and trying to figure out how to eat it.)

We all know there are sane people in Louisiana. How did they ever let a throwback like this get into a position of having even a wee bit of authority?

1. He does have a point
because no white couples who marry ever get divorced and there is no spousal or child abuse or neglect in white families. Especially christian white families.

2. If the president of the U.S. can ignore Supreme
Court decisions without repercussions, why shouldn't this guy?

In a country in which we allow the president to torture and eavesdrop illegally, there is no law and order. That's why it is so important to prosecute the torture and the illegal wiretapping.
