Teen dies after pulling a knife on school resource officer.
CONWAY — Officials say a student died after stabbing a police officer at a South Carolina high school.

Several media outlets said the officer shot the student. Police and school officials declined to comment on whether shots were fired.

Authorities confirmed a 16-year-old boy pulled a knife and fought briefly with an officer as school started Friday morning at Carolina Forest High School in Conway.

Conway Medical Center spokeswoman Julie Rajotte said the student died at the hospital. She said the officer was being treated in the emergency room and was in good condition.

8. Wouldn't be a surprise
A few days back there were a few that tried to blame a security guard for shooting a shoplifter who physically assaulted the guard to the point of having him on the ground.

6. Why would he stab a guy with a gun?
If I were getting stabbed and I had a gun, I'd probably have to use it.

7. Its sad when youths make such stupid decisions that end up costing them their lives.

Of course, for some people at DU this 16 year old is a victim of the US gun culture.

9. No, a victim of the US violence culture.
The idea that violence is a quick answer to complex problems is endemic to our society. It's a mainstay of television dramas and Hollywood features. It is a major plank in Republican politics, and only slightly smaller plank in Democratic politics. Even though the vast majority of the population will never go to war, we are saturated with war imagery. Even though the vast majority of the population will not be victimized by murderers, anyone who owns a television will see hundreds of murders before adulthood - and with "Real TV" shows, not all of them fictional.

Gun culture is just a twisted offshoot of the larger violence culture.

13. OK, now that I've cooled off a bit
THOSE PEOPLE AREN'T REPRESENTATIVE OF FUCKING GUN CULTURE.

Hunting culture is NOT the same as freaks with a hundred weapons stocking up for the coming apocalypse. Hunting culture is NOT children settling schoolyard arguments by popping a cap in someone. Hunting culture is NOT lynch mobs. Hunting culture is NOT assassination of politicians who you dislike.

I DON'T GIVE A FUCK WHAT HUNTERS DO. THEY DON'T SCARE ME.

Hunters don't worship their fucking guns.

The guy in the third pic did not shoot those birds because they took his parking place.

Grow the fuck up.

15. Probably shot them because he enjoys it.
"The guy in the third pic did not shoot those birds because they took his parking place."

Probably shot them because he enjoys it doing so. I imagine for many people, that's a much better reason.

16. You're equating violent culture with gun culture and as I pointed out the two are not the same.
Sorry, but, your point is convoluted. As you just pointed out yourself: if someone shoots someone else for parking in his spot, its not because a person owns a gun, its because the person is violent. Guns have nothing to do with.

You also said: "Hunters don't worship their fucking guns." That's not an accurate subjective opinion. While some hunters only view their guns as a tool, albeit a dangerous tool. Other hunters do display a level of obsession with guns. A lot of gun collectors also display a level of obsession with guns and neither one of these persons is a violent person because they have some obsession with guns.

As far as telling me to grow up, on the contrary, you're the one displaying a temper tantrum attitude like some little child not getting his way.

Peace,
Xicano
