The fight with the White House over the RNC emails may be the turning point.... |

If the RNC hands over the emails to the White House, and ignores the Congressional subpoena, then the Courts will have to step in and decide all the key issues --but especially the issue of 'executive privilege' application to emails passing through 'outside' mail servers.
The outcome of that decision will set the course for what comes next.

Not precedent setting, just convenient to the Party in power. I really hope our Supreme Court considers the longterm ramifications to allowing this White House to umbrella anything that could prove criminal intent on their part. That would not appear to be what a strict constructionist Court ought to create a precedent with.
